In Lebanon, AFD and the NGO IECD (“Semeurs d’Avenir”) are not only trying to teach young people a trade, they are promoting the togetherness. Lebanese society has not totally recovered from the 2005 civil war and the country has been deeply affected by regional instability. With the Syrian crisis, 1 inhabitant in 5 is now Syrian in Lebanon.
Through short-term training programs, this project favors a rapid improvement of vulnerable people such as Lebaneses populations and Syrians. Their living conditions will be improved through greater access to employment. This trainings targets both
Syrians and Lebanese citizens order to promote social cohesion. The project also allows low-skilled young adults to successfully integrate both the job market and society. Consequently, they learn a trade while getting to know each other.
