Sri Lanka reached the lower middle-income status in 2010 and continued to experience rapid economic growth during the following years. The country alsoexperienced free elections in January 2015 that confirmed the country’s stand for democracy and wealth sharing. These past years have started to gradually erase the physical traces of the devastating 2004 tsunami and the 30-year long civil war that ended in 2009. However, many challenges remain for Sri Lanka in its path to achieve an inclusive socio-economic growth.
