Communication on AFD's supported projects
Does your project receive funding from the Agence Française de Développement (AFD)?
Recipients of AFD funding have an obligation to ensure that the support provided by France and the AFD’s is visible across all project communication.
It is the responsibility of our partners to carry out this communication with the aim of enhancing awareness around and visibility of the project as well as the support provided.
Why communicate ?
Integrating communication into your project is a key pillar of its success. Effective communication strengthens your visibility and increases public awareness of your activities. It contributes to the promotion of your work, highlights the project's impacts, and showcases your expertise. As the actor closest to the field, it is your responsibility to make your project visible and to inform beneficiaries.
The two levels of communication
Level 1 – Minimum visibility requirements
These simple obligations, outlined in the Level 1 Visibility Toolkit available for download below, apply to all projects supported by AFD.
Level 2 – Enhanced communication
This level involves a structured approach to communication, with dedicated financial and human resources, and a strategic communication plan. It is encouraged forprojects which are particularly innovative or those that addresshigh-impact themes.
The appropriate communication level for your project is jointly defined by the beneficiary of AFD funding along with the AFD teams during the project appraisal phase. It is then formalized in the financing agreement binding you to AFD.
