Sahel Alliance: A Data Snapshot of the International Response to the Region’s Challenges

For deeper engagement in the Sahel in West and Central Africa, France, Germany and the European Union launched the Sahel Alliance. Backed by the World Bank, the African Development Bank and the United Nations Development Program, the Alliance will hold its General Assembly on April 4 in Madrid. It’s a chance to assess the multifaceted, ambitious initiative aimed at shoring up peace and development in the region.
